As we enter the second month of 2018, the #metoo movement continues to shine a spotlight on sexual abuse and misconduct and to inspire both public and private discussions about women’s rights, feminism, and the intersection of gender, class, and race. In January, LARB launched a bi-monthly column on “Popular Feminism” by Sarah Banet-Weiser, professor and director of the Annenberg School for Communication at USC. We have also run a piece on “The Neoliberal Feminist Subject,” as well as essays on fiction by strong, individual feminist voices like Kate Braverman, Jenny Diski, Octavia E. Butler, and Ann Quin. In doing so, we hope to have contributed to what we consider to be one of the most important conversations of our day. — LARB Editorial
