Mark Firmani is a doctoral candidate in the English Department at the University of Pennsylvania and a JD student at Yale Law School. His dissertation is a comparative project that analyzes Iraqi cultural representations of the 2003 war and occupation alongside those in contemporary US literature, poetry, television and film. He works with English- and Arabic-language texts.
