HISTORY
Madeleine Cohen is the academic director of the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts, and the president of the Board of Directors of In geveb: A Journal of Yiddish Studies. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and her dissertation, “Here and Now: The Modernist Poetics of Do’ikayt,” explores connections between the representation of place in modernist Yiddish literature and revolutionary politics in the interwar period.
