Lisa Sanchez Powers

Lisa Sanchez Powers is the literary director of Dorland Mountain Arts Colony and editor-in-chief of the literary journal Nomos Review. She completed her PhD at UC Irvine and taught in New York, Chicago, and at UC San Diego, publishing in scholarly journals and anthologies before turning full time to the novel. Her fiction and review essays have been published in The Millions, The Rumpus, Narrative Magazine, and Press 53. She was a scholarship recipient of the Squaw Valley Writers’ Conference and a writer-in-residence at The Weymouth Center in North Carolina, where she first began writing her novel, The Theater, about an anthropologist who travels to Afghanistan during the waning years of Afghan war. Find her at Facebook or on her website at www.thelisasanchez.com.
