Viet Thanh Nguyen is an associate professor of English and American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. He is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Sympathizer, from Grove/Atlantic (2015). His other books are Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War (a finalist for the National Book Award in nonfiction and the National Book Critics Circle Award in General Nonfiction) and Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America. He is the Aerol Arnold Chair of English and Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. His next book is a short story collection, The Refugees, forthcoming in February 2017 from Grove Press.

Zoë Ruiz lives and writes in Los Angeles. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in The Believer, The Millions, Marketplace, The Rumpus, Salon, and the anthologies California Prose Directory (2014), Rooted, and Golden State. She is also the Events Director at The Last Bookstore as well as a freelance book editor and book publicist.

<h4>Lisa Sanchez Powers is the literary director of Dorland Mountain Arts Colony and editor-in-chief of the literary journal Nomos Review. She completed her PhD at UC Irvine and taught in New York, Chicago, and at UC San Diego, publishing in scholarly journals and anthologies before turning full time to the novel. Her fiction and review essays have been published in The Millions, The Rumpus, Narrative Magazine, and Press 53.
