Ximena Prieto

Ximena Prieto is a Mexican writer and multidisciplinary artist exploring the creation of rituals and inherited memory. Incorporating theater of objects and deconstructed myths through performance and installation, her pieces question the separations of the familiar and novel through interpretive challenges to identity formation. Her performances have been presented at La Sudestada and Estudio Marte, and her pieces have been displayed in Mexico City, New York City, Turin, and Charlotte. In 2024, she presented Has It Begun, a play commissioned by Zepherina, followed by Las Memorias, El Conejo, y La Trompeta, a storybook written for Banzo’s collection launch. Her writing, video, and performance work has been featured in Wonderland Magazine, Speciwomen, Latina Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, FLOOD Magazine, and Investigación Teatral. She is currently completing a book with Jill Publications exploring her contrasting relationships with her grandmothers.
