Trisha R. Thomas is a NAACP Image Award finalist for Outstanding Literary Work for her debut novel, Nappily Ever After, published by Random House. She went on to win an Essence Literary Award, a Literary Lion Award, and voted Best New Writer by the Black Writer’s Alliance. Her debut novel has since been adapted as a Netflix Original Film starring Sanaa Lathan and directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour. Featured in O Oprah Magazine’s in Books That Matter, she writes novels that delve into the self-esteem of young women of color and the insurmountable expectations that begin at a young age. She’s been a guest analyst on CNN Headline News, bringing light on the issues of identity and self-acceptance. She earned a Bachelor of Science from California State University Los Angeles.
