Greene is a Renaissance specialist, with a number of books on poetry to his credit; his second specialty is Brazilian writing, especially Concrete Poetry, and he is fluent in Portuguese. Greene is the editor in chief of the fourth edition of the Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics (2012).
