Grace Lavery
Grace Lavery is an Assistant Professor of English at UC Berkeley, affiliated with the Programs in Critical Theory and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. Her first book, Quaint, Exquisite: Victorian Aesthetics and the Idea of Japan is forthcoming early next year from Princeton University Press, and she is currently conducting research on a second book-length project on realism, psychoanalysis, and the rhetoric of technique from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries. From time to time she also publishes public essays on free speech, trans issues, and related political themes. She is a Pisces, a Water Pig, an Enneagram Type 3 with a 2 wing, an Instagram junkie, and a transsexual woman.
