Peter Dreier

Peter Dreier is the Dr. E.P. Clapp Distinguished Professor of Politics, and chair of the Urban and Environmental Policy Department, at Occidental College. He writes regularly about politics, culture, and sports for The Nation, American Prospect, Huffington Post, Dissent, Salon, and the Los Angeles Times op-ed page. His most recent book is The 100 Greatest Americans of the 20th Century: A Social Justice Hall of Fame (Nation Books, 2012). He is also the coauthor of The Next Los Angeles: The Struggle for a Livable City (University of California Press) and Place Matters: Metropolitics for the 21st Century(University Press of Kansas). He lives in Pasadena with his wife Terry Meng. They have twin daughters, Amelia and Sarah, and two dogs, Dixie and her daughter Mia.
