Miles P. Grier is an assistant professor of English at Queens College, CUNY. He has written essays on racial profiling after 9/11, Joni Mitchell’s black pimp alter ego, and President Obama’s desire for a Beyhive. He has a forthcoming book on the relationship between Shakespearean blackface and a white monopoly on literacy.
