Max Suechting is a doctoral candidate in Stanford University’s Program in Modern Thought & Literature and a Teaching Fellow at Stanford’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity. He studies 20th- and 21st-century American popular culture, with a focus on popular music. Other interests include media and technology theory, Afrofuturism, the speculative genres, the posthuman, and the music and culture of the Black Atlantic. He is an LARB Assistant Editor for Speculative Fiction.
