Matthew Asprey is a writer from Sydney, Australia, and is the editor of Contrappasso Magazine. He is the author of the novellas Red Hills of Africa, Sonny’s Guerrillas, and Angelique in San Francisco, as well as the story chapbook To Murder My Love Is A Crime!: Stories of Desperate Men. Asprey’s short stories have appeared in Island, Extempore, Nth Degree, Over My Dead Body!, and Total Cardboard. In 2010 he edited Jack London: San Francisco Stories. In 2011 dispatches from his Global Prowl appeared at PopMatters.com. Later that year he was awarded a PhD by Macquarie University, where he lectures in creative writing.
