Karen Grigsby Bates

Karen Grigsby Bates is a correspondent for NPR’s Code Switch team, based at NPR West in Culver City, where she covers race and identity issues. She is the co-author of a best-selling etiquette book and has written two mystery novels. She lives in Los Angeles with her family.
