Jeffrey M. Binder is an affiliate fellow at Pennsylvania State University’s Center for Humanities and Information. He also works as a professional programmer with expertise in machine learning and cybersecurity. His recent book, Language and the Rise of the Algorithm (University of Chicago Press, November 2022), gives a history of the idea of algorithm from the 1600s to present.
