Ian Ellison is the postdoctoral research associate on the Kafka’s Transformative Communities project at the University of Oxford and a visiting fellow of Wadham College. He was long-listed for the 2024 Observer/Anthony Burgess Prize for Arts Journalism and short-listed for the 2023 Peirene Stevns Translation Prize. His next book, The Trial: Biography of a Novel, is forthcoming with Manchester University Press.
