Gregory L. Reece

Gregory L. Reece writes about religion and popular culture, new religious movements, and philosophy of religion. His books include UFO Religion: Inside Flying Saucer Cults and Culture; Weird Science and Bizarre Beliefs: Mysterious Creatures, Lost Worlds and Amazing Inventions; Creatures of the Night: In Search of Ghosts, Vampires, Werewolves and Demons; Elvis Religion: The Cult of the King; and Irony and Religious Belief. Greg has a Ph.D. in religious studies from the Claremont Graduate University. He lives in Montevallo, Alabama.

The Rivera Book Prize aims to provide a platform that showcases the emerging literary talent of the Chicanx/Latinx community, to cultivate the next generation of Chicanx/Latinx writers, and to continue the rich literary memory of Tomás Rivera, Chicano author, poet, activist, and educator.
