Erik Loomis is a professor of history at the University of Rhode Island. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Dissent, and The New Republic. The author of Out of Sight: The Long and Disturbing Story of Corporations Outsourcing Catastrophe (2015), A History of America in Ten Strikes (2018), and Organizing America: Stories of Americans Who Fought for Justice (2025), all from the New Press, as well as Empire of Timber: Labor Unions and the Pacific Northwest Forests (2015), he lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
