<h4>Lisa Uddin is Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History and Visual Culture Studies at Whitman College. Her research examines aesthetic, material, and symbolic dimensions of humanity and animality as a starting point for social and environmental justice. She is the author of <em>Zoo Renewal: White Flight and the Animal Ghetto</em> (University of Minnesota Press, 2015), which traces efforts to improve animal exhibits through the racial dynamics of American postwar urbanism. Her current research considers the graphics and architectures of survival in the post–Civil Rights era.</h4>

<h4>Catherine Zuromskis is Assistant Professor of Photographic Arts &amp; Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is the author of <em>Snapshot Photography: The Lives of Images</em> (MIT Press, 2013). The book was a finalist for the College Art Association (CAA) 2015 Charles Rufus Morey Book Prize. She is also the author and editor of <em>The Factory</em> (La Fabrica, 2012), the catalog for the exhibition From the Factory to the World: Photography and the Warhol Community. Catherine’s writings on photography, film, and visual culture have appeared <em>Art Journal</em>, <em>American Quarterly</em>, <em>The Velvet Light Trap</em>, <em>Photography &amp; Culture</em>, <em>Criticism</em>, and <em>Postmodern Culture</em>, and a number of edited volumes and exhibition catalogs. She is currently at work on a new book, tentatively titled <em>First Person</em>, on affect and the aesthetics and politics of evidentiary imagery in the age of American neoliberalism.</h4>

<h4>Maria Windell is Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is completing the manuscript for her first book project, <em>Sentimental Diplomacy: US Literary History and the Transamerican Nineteenth Century</em>, which argues that as the US reacted to and intervened in conflicts such as the Haitian Revolution, the US-Mexican War, and Cuba’s wars for independence, a particular thread of sentimental discourse actively engaged anxieties about national identity, permeable national boundaries, and the expanding US imperial presence. Her second book project, <em>Novel Imperial Imaginaries: Early US Military, Diplomatic, and Literary History</em>, explores how late-18th-century and 19th-century military and diplomatic writings reconfigure US literary developments. Her work has appeared in such journals as <em>Nineteenth-Century Literature</em> and <em>J19: The Journal of Nineteenth-Century Americanists</em>.</h4>
