Beth Winegarner is an American author and journalist. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Wired, Mother Jones, the Guardian, and USA Today, along with numerous publications in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lives. Her newest book, Tenacity: Heavy Metal in the Middle East and Africa (2018), explores how heavy metal communities in those regions have survived moral panics, government crackdowns, and regional violence.
