Bernhard Poerksen studied German language and literature, journalism, and biology and is now professor of media studies at the University of Tübingen, where he was voted "Professor of the Year" in 2008. He is known for his work on scandal research (The Unleashed Scandal, together with Hanne Detel) as well as by his books produced with the cybernetician Heinz von Foerster and neurobiologist Humberto Maturana, among others. His book Digital Fever: Taming the Big Business of Disinformation is forthcoming from Palgrave Macmillan.
