Aurora Shimshak

Aurora Shimshak is from southwestern Wisconsin. Though she is currently a PhD student in rhetoric and composition, her first academic interests were in creative writing. Her poems and essays have appeared in Poetry Northwest, Shenandoah, and The Offing, among others. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her poetry manuscript was a finalist for Milkweed’s Ballard Spahr Prize.
