Ashley Nicole Beene is currently a third year poetry MFA student at the University of California, Riverside. Her thesis focuses on public mourning and the body, with a few rare birds for color. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga, weightlifting, and attempting to teach her kitten how to walk on a leash.
