Annette Gordon-Reed is a professor of law and professor of history at Harvard University. She is most recently the author, with Peter S. Onuf, of “Most Blessed of the Patriarchs”: Thomas Jefferson and the Empire of the Imagination. She won the Pulitzer Prize in History in 2009 for The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family.
