Susan Coyne is a 2016 graduate of the MFA: Illustration as Visual Essay program at the School of Visual Arts. She contributes weekly illustrations to the WBUR show Radio Open Source. Her illustration of James Baldwin for Radio Open Source won a 2017 American Illustration award and she was a 2016 recipient of an Alumni Scholarship from the School of Visual Arts. Her book The ABCs of Subverting the Patriarchal Paradigm was featured in the 2017 Netflix movie The Incredible Jessica James. Her work was also included in the anthology Bad Drawings by Bad Women, published by TigerBee Press.
