LARB’s 10th Birthday & Anthology Release Party

Join the Los Angeles Review of Books as we celebrate ten years with a fun and festive evening featuring appearances and toasts by Jody Armour, Margaret Atwood, Reza Aslan, Victoria Chang, Dean Rader, Lynne Thompson, and more; giveaways of everything from tickets to our February 19 Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony honoring Sandra Cisneros, Linda Hogan, & Ishmael Reed and annual LARB Book Club memberships to an autographed vintage typewriter from Tom Hanks’s special collection; readings from Steph Cha, Sarah Chihaya, and Kaya Genç, and the debut of our special 10th Anniversary Anthology edition of the LARB Quarterly Journal, featuring some of decade’s best writing!

 

The virtual celebration will take place on Zoom and serve as both the culmination of our year-long anniversary campaign and the official launch party for the QJ issue. Admission to the event is free, though we gratefully welcome donations and sponsorships in support of LARB’s continued work as a 501(c)(3) reader-supported nonprofit. All donations to this event will be doubled by the generosity of a tenth anniversary matching grant sponsor. Help secure LARB’s future—and be entered in for fun giveaways—at the same time! 

 

Donation Levels

Free – Admission to the event. Share your support of LARB on social with registration before December 8 to be entered in the giveaway. 

 

$25 – Admission to the event + digital copy of the special edition 10th Anniversary Anthology Quarterly Journal featuring handpicked favorite pieces from the last decade of the Los Angeles Review of Books. Share your support of LARB on social with registration before December 8 to be entered in the giveaway. 

 

$75 – Admission to the event + a print copy of the special edition 10th Anniversary Anthology Quarterly Journal featuring handpicked favorite pieces from the last decade of the Los Angeles Review of Books mailed to your door. Share your support of LARB on social with registration before December 8 to be entered in the giveaway. 

 

$150 – Admission to the event +  a print copy of the special edition 10th Anniversary Anthology Quarterly Journal featuring handpicked favorite pieces from the last decade of the Los Angeles Review of Books mailed to your door. All donors of $150 or more will automatically be entered in the giveaway.

 

$250 – Admission to the event +  a print copy of the special edition 10th Anniversary Anthology Quarterly Journal featuring handpicked favorite pieces from the last decade of the Los Angeles Review of Books + limited-edition 10th Anniversary tote bag mailed to your door. All donors of $250 or more will automatically be entered in the giveaway.

 

$500 – Admission to the event +  a print copy of the special edition 10th Anniversary Anthology Quarterly Journal featuring handpicked favorite pieces from the last decade of the Los Angeles Review of Books + limited-edition 10th Anniversary tote bag + autographed book bundle mailed to your door.  All donors of $500 or more will automatically be entered in the giveaway.

 

Giveaway Rules

All donors of $150+ are automatically entered into the giveaway. Alternatively, anyone can enter the giveaway with their event registration by posting your support of LARB with the hashtag #supportLARB and/or a sticker (shown after registration) to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook before December 8 to be entered in the giveaway. All prizes will be announced at the December 9 event. To claim your prize, you must be logged on to Zoom and present at the virtual event. One entry per person. Prizes may be gifted by winners to other recipients of their choosing.
