LARB Luminary Dinner with George Saunders

Please join Los Angeles Review of Books for an intimate evening with acclaimed author GEORGE SAUNDERS. Following dinner, George Saunders will read from his work. He will be joined in conversation by award-winning writer CHARLES YU.

Books will be available for purchase from Skylight Books. Authors will sign books following the program.

 

All tickets include cocktails, dinner, presentation, and book signing, and proceeds directly support the Los Angeles Review of Books, a 501(c)(3) literary and cultural arts nonprofit. This event will take place at a private home in Los Angeles. Address will be sent with ticket confirmation. George Saunders is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of eleven books, including A Swim in a Pond in the Rain; Lincoln in the Bardo, which won the Booker Prize; Congratulations, by the Way; Tenth of December, a finalist for the National Book Award and winner of the inaugural Folio Award; The Braindead Megaphone; and the critically acclaimed collections CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, Pastoralia, and In Persuasion Nation. His most recent book Liberation Day published October 2022. He teaches in the creative writing program at Syracuse University.

Charles Yu is the author of four books, including Interior Chinatown (the winner of the 2020 National Book Award for fiction), and the novel How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe (a New York Times Notable Book and a Time magazine best book of the year). He received the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 Award and was nominated for two Writers Guild of America Awards for his work on the HBO series, Westworld. He has also written for shows on FX, AMC, and HBO. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Wired, among other publications. Together with TaiwaneseAmerican.org, he established the Betty L. Yu and Jin C. Yu Writing Prizes, in honor of his parents.
