Christopher Vials

Christopher Vials is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Connecticut-Storrs, where he is also the Director of American Studies. Most of his work thus far has focused on social movements of the political left and right and their impacts on US culture in the 20th century. Over the past five years, he has focused on fascism and antifascism in the United States. His last monograph was Haunted by Hitler: Liberals, the Left, and the Fight against Fascism in the United States (2014).  He is now co-editing, with Bill Mullen, The U.S. Antifascism Reader, forthcoming from Verso Press. He has appeared on NPR and PBS stations as well as CBC radio to discuss the topic of fascism in U.S. history.
