The Writing on the Wall
The Writing on the Wall is a a multi-site wheatpaste campaign by artist Hank Willis Thomas and professor and activist Dr. Baz Dreisinger. The campaign is presented in Los Angeles through LAND in collaboration with Kayne Griffin Los Angeles.
The work consists of essays, poems, letters, stories, diagrams and notes written by incarcerated people around the world. It includes a QR code that takes people to Incarceration Nations Network’s (INN) information website filled with resources. INN is a a global network dedicated to prison reform and re-imagining justice.
The works are located in Chinatown, Downtown Los Angeles, Leimert Park, Little Tokyo, Echo Park, Mid-City, and Hollywood.
