Ultimate Vatos is Sara Sadik’s first exhibition at Galerie Crèvecoeur in Paris.

Her film, Ultimate Vatos, brings together video sequences from several different sources (telemonitoring, 3D images, etc) and marks porous distinctions between the real and the virtual. Set in the Parc National des Calanques de Marseille, the narrative of the film follows a recurrent structure in Sadik’s work where the character goes through several tests and where there is a subsequent de- and re-contextualization at play. The main character’s internal monologues reflect a collective voice through Sadik’s collaging of sources from French rap, in particular PNL, Booba and Timal, Louisa Yousfi’s book Rester barbare, as well as slogans taken from the Army’s advertising campaigns or the mottos of French Foreign Legion regiments.
