Jenny Liou

Jenny Liou is an English professor at Pierce College and the author of the poetry collection Muscle Memory (2022). She holds a poetry MFA from UC Irvine, as well as an English PhD specializing in the literature/philosophy/history of early modern science. In addition to her work as a writer, Jenny holds a BS in biology (also from UC Irvine) and has spent the past two decades working as a restoration ecologist for various organizations including Nez Perce Tribal Fisheries and the University of California Natural Reserve System. Jenny’s recent writing has appeared in High Country News, Lit Hub, and Lantern Review, and she was a 2019–20 Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center Fellow at the University of Washington.
