Kathryn Lofton teaches religious studies and American studies at Yale University, where she also serves as dean of humanities. She is the author of

Consuming Religion, and co-editor, with Laurie Maffly-Kipp, of
Women’s Work: An Anthology of African-American Women's Historical Writings from Antebellum America to the Harlem Renaissance. She co-edits, with John Lardas Modern,
Class 200: New Studies in Religion.
