LARB Luminary Dinner with Cathy Park Hong

Please join the Los Angeles Review of Books for an intimate evening with acclaimed author, poet, and professor CATHY PARK HONG.

Cathy Park Hong’s New York Times bestselling book of creative nonfiction, Minor Feelings: An Asian American Reckoning, was published in Spring 2020 by One World/Random House and Profile Books (UK). Minor Feelings was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for autobiography, and earned her recognition on TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2021 list. She is also the author of poetry collections Engine Empire, published in 2012 by W. W. Norton; Dance Dance Revolution (2006), chosen by Adrienne Rich for the Barnard Women Poets Prize, and Translating Mo’um (2002). Hong is the recipient of the Windham Campbell Prize, the Guggenheim Fellowship, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Her prose and poetry have been published in The New York Times, New Republic, the Guardian, The Paris Review, Poetry, and elsewhere. She is a full professor at Rutgers University–Newark.

A selection of books by Cathy Park Hong will be available for sale and signing at the event, courtesy of Chevalier’s Books, the oldest independent bookstore in Los Angeles.

Your tax-deductible ticket purchase benefits the Los Angeles Review of Books, a 501(c)(3) public service nonprofit and one of the most intellectually rigorous, comprehensive book reviews in the world.     $1,500 — Two for private VIP reception + dinner + conversation

    $3,500 — Four for VIP reception + dinner + conversation + sponsor credit

All giving levels include valet, dinner, drinks, conversation, and presentation.


This event takes place indoors and outdoors. Masks are encouraged for the safety of all in attendance. We will continue to closely monitor and observe public health guidelines.
