Renee Simms

Renee Simms’s work appears or is forthcoming in Guernica, Oxford American, Callaloo, Ecotone, and elsewhere, and her debut story collection Meet Behind Mars was an Indies Foreword finalist and listed by The Root as one of 28 brilliant books by black authors in 2018. She’s received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Ragdale, Vermont Studio Center, and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Renee teaches creative writing and African American Studies at University of Puget Sound and in the MFA program at Pacific Lutheran University.
