Keija Parssinen

Keija Parssinen is the author of The Ruins of Us, which earned a Michener-Copernicus award and was named Best Book of the Mid-East Region in Turkey's Today's Zaman; and The Unraveling of Mercy Louis, which won an Alex Award from the American Library Association, was selected as Book of the Month by Emily St. John Mandel, and was named a Best Book of 2015 by the Kansas City Star, among other outlets. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Slate, Salon, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Slice, World Literature Today, the Lonely Planet travel writing anthologies, and elsewhere, and has been supported by fellowships from MacDowell, Yaddo, Hedgebrook, Ragdale, and others. A graduate of Princeton and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Truman Capote fellow, she is an assistant professor of English at Kenyon College.
