Emma Kemp is a writer and artist from the United Kingdom living in Los Angeles. She earned her MFA in writing from California Institute of the Arts and a BA (fine art) from Central Saint Martins in London. Her writing has previously been published by

Blue Pool: Cecelia, in collaboration with photographer Jo Ann Walters and published by iTi Press, was short-listed for the Aperture PhotoBook Awards in 2018. She is co-founder of image-first research studio
BAKERSFIELD, and an assistant professor at Otis College of Art and Design. Her forthcoming book is a critical biography of musician Conor Oberst.
