Chelsea Sutton

Chelsea Sutton writes weird fiction and impossible plays and films. She was a 2016 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow, and she has just finished her first short story collection, Curious Monsters, which was the runner-up for the 2018 Madeline P. Plonsker Emerging Writers Residency Prize. Her fiction has appeared in The Rattling Wall, Spectrum, Bourbon Penn, The Texas Observer, The Cost of Paper, and is forthcoming in Cosmonaut Avenue and Pithead Chapel. She was a 2018 Sewanee Writers Conference Playwright Fellow, a writer in residence at Willapa Bay AiR in 2017, and a Humanitas PlayLA award winner. Most recently she co-wrote with Lisa Dring the acclaimed immersive production Kaidan Project: Walls Grow Thin and her play Wood Boy Dog Fish received its second production in the inaugural season at the Garry Marshall Theatre — both written and produced with Rogue Artists Ensemble.
