Susmita Bhattacharya is the author of The Normal State of Mind. Her essays and short fiction have appeared in Mslexia, Wasafiri, Structo, and Eleven Eleven Journal, among others, and been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Born in Mumbai, she now lives in Winchester, UK. She sailed on oil tankers for three years after marrying a master mariner, and never once suffered from sea-sickness.
