Ellie Wymard, PhD, is professor emerita in English at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, where she directed the Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing. She has published critical essays in literary journals, and a series of interviews with women writers for the Critic. She is the author of J.F. Powers: His Christian Comic Vision, and four other books: Divorced Women, New Lives, Men on Divorce, Conversations With Uncommon Women, and Talking Steel Towns.
