Adam Gaffney

Adam Gaffney is a physician and writer whose work has also appeared (either in print or online) in the New Republic, Salon, US News & World Report, Jacobin, In These Times, USA Today, CNN.com, and on his blog at www.theprogressivephysician.net. He is a fellow in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also an adviser to the board of the Physicians for a National Health Program. The Rivera Book Prize aims to provide a platform that showcases the emerging literary talent of the Chicanx/Latinx community, to cultivate the next generation of Chicanx/Latinx writers, and to continue the rich literary memory of Tomás Rivera, Chicano author, poet, activist, and educator.
