Philip F. Gura

Philip F. Gura (b. June 14, 1950) is an American scholar, writer, editor, and educator. He is the William S. Newman Distinguished Professor of American literature and culture at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an editor of the Norton Anthology of American Literature, and the author or editor of 10 other books. His latest is Truth’s Ragged Edge: The Rise of the American Novel.
