Scott Bukatman

Scott Bukatman is a professor of film and media studies at Stanford University and a prolific critic of film, comics, and other popular forms. In addition to Hellboy’s World, he is the author of Terminal Identity: The Virtual Subject in Postmodern Science Fiction (Duke University Press, 1993), the British Film Institute volume on Blade Runner (BFI, 1997), Matters of Gravity: Special Effects and Supermen in the 20th Century (Duke University Press, 2003), and The Poetics of Slumberland: Animated Spirits and the Animating Spirit (University of California Press, 2012).
