Neil Young is best known as a singer, songwriter, rock and folk guitarist, co-founder of the seminal rock group, Buffalo Springfield. Young has performed with Crosby Stills Nash & Young for more than 30 years, had a long and successful solo career collaborating with his longtime back-up band, Crazy Horse and contributed to numerous other artist’s recordings and concerts. Young has distinguished himself as a strong advocate for environmental and disability issues, co-founding the Benefit for Farm Aid and Bridge School. An avid model-train collector, he created a 700-foot model train track within a barn on his property. Young developed adaptations to switching and power using a paddle system that enabled his son Ben and others with disabilities to control the trains. These modifications formed the basis for a company called Liontech. In 1995, when the Lionel Company faced bankruptcy, Young put together an investment group to purchase it.
