Laurie Halse Anderson is a best-selling author of books for young adults. Two of her works, Speak (1999) and Chains (2008), were National Book Award finalists, and Chains was short-listed for the prestigious Carnegie Medal. She has been twice nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Her latest book is Shout (2019).
