Laura Claridge is the author of books ranging from feminist theory to biography and popular culture. Her most recent publication is Emily Post: Daughter of the Gilded Age, Mistress of American Manners. She has received a National Endowment for the Humanities Grant as well as the J. Anthony Lukas Prize for a Work in Progress. Claridge has taught English at Converse and Wofford colleges in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and her work as appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, The Boston Globe, and the Los Angeles Times.
