Kim Newman is a British author and film critic. A columnist for Empire Magazine and a regular contributor to the Guardian, The Times of London, Time Out, and other publications, he is the author of Nightmare Movies: Horror on Screen Since the 1960s (2011), along with numerous other works of film history and criticism. His fictional works include the “Anno Dracula” series of horror novels (1992–2019), several collections of stories featuring the exploits of the “Diogenes Club” (2006–’10), and freestanding novels such as The Night Mayor (1989), Bad Dreams (1990), An English Ghost Story (2014), and Angels of Music (2016). He has won the Bram Stoker Award, the International Horror Guild Award, the British Fantasy and British Science Fiction Awards, and has been nominated for the Hugo, World Fantasy, and James Herbert Awards.
