Kata Gellen is an assistant professor in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literature at Duke University. She is the author of Kafka and Noise: The Discovery of Cinematic Sound in Literary Modernism. Her writing has also appeared in Modernism/Modernity, Modern Austrian Literature, Seminar, and elsewhere.
