John Akomfrah is a Ghanaian-born British artist and filmmaker, whose works investigate memory and post-colonialism. He was a founding member, with artists David Lawson and Lina Gopaul, of the influential Black Audio Film Collective, which started in London in 1982. His recent films include Vertigo Sea (2015) and The Stuart Hall Project (2013).
