Jan-Werner Müller is a professor of politics at Princeton University, where he directs the History of Political Thought Project at the University Center for Human Values. He is the author of Another Country: German Intellectuals, Unification, and National Identity (2000), A Dangerous Mind: Carl Schmitt in Post-War European Thought (2003), Constitutional Patriotism (2007), Contesting Democracy: Political Ideas in Twentieth-Century Europe (2011), and What is Populism?
