Ian Bostridge is an English tenor whose international operatic career has spanned several decades and stages. Born in London, his musical career began at age 27, and he has since become revered as one of the world’s finest Lieder interpreters. He holds a D.Phil from Oxford on the significance of witchcraft in 17th- and 18th-century England, and numerous engagements with Corpus Christi College, Oxford, University of St. Andrews, St. John’s College, and was created a CBE in 2004. His last book, A Singer’s Notebook, is a collection of essays and reviews on the mind and motivations of classical music.
